Dear Gerry,

Thank you for seeing me last Friday.  I feel it has helped me a lot - as is also the case regarding our earlier meetings.

With reference to Mr Geraghty's letter to you dated June 14th 2005, and leaving aside the "restraints on Client privilege" issue he has raised (which I feel is largely irrelevant because of all the information I have already put on the Internet regarding my case), I would now like to sum up my overall comments to you regarding his letter as follows:

1)  There is no mention at all of the MAIN item you wrote to Mr Geraghty about - i.e. "the possibility... of amicably resolving the matter of the extant warrant for my arrest".

2)  There is no mention at all of the fact that, as I understand it, bail money may well have to be found in the event of I attending court in the Republic of Ireland (if I am to avoid being locked up in jail for an indefinite period immediately after the hearing).  As I related to you last Friday, Mr Kennedy, the solicitor who advised my brother on December 6th 2004 at the offices of Hogan & Co. in Ballinasloe, just hours before I left the Republic of Ireland in fear for my life, went out of his way to warn me (over the phone) that bail was likely to be "set high" when I was "taken" (i.e. forced against my wishes by the police) to appear before the court: which he suggested might be 10,000 or 12,000 Euros - and "possibly more".

3) There is no mention that (in so far as I am able to recall at present) the criminal offence I am being charged with could mean that I will be imprisoned for up to 18 months if I am found guilty.

4) There is no mention at all of anything regarding my concerns relating to certain human rights issues, which a large transnational array of public servants, some of them very senior, appear to me to be flouting in wholly irresponsible and socially disastrous ways.  I have already related this problem (via a number of copied e-mails since December 2004) to three separate lawyers at Fair & Murtagh.  Also, and for the reasons set out in 2 letters of mine (which I have given you copies of), and which are reproduced on the Internet at the two addresses provided below, there are (as I see it) certain other important areas of constitutional law (apart from human-rights issues) being violated in major ways by ALL of the three main institutions of the government of the Republic of Ireland.  All of this leaves me wondering how anybody could reasonably expect me to believe that I will receive a fair hearing in any Republic of Ireland court of law at the present time?  As things stand just now, and with due regard for the way several letters of mine sent through the registered post are apparently being completely ignored by very senior public servants, I simply do not believe I will receive a fair hearing in any Republic of Ireland court - which is of course the main reason why I fled the Republic in great haste in the early hours of December 7th 2004, and why I have since been living in forced-exile in the Northern Ireland jurisdiction. It is also the main reason why the possibility of a negotiated settlement, which would "bring this matter to a fair conclusion", and which does NOT involve the use of Republic of Ireland courts of law, is so very important to me.

Addresses for texts of two letters referred to above:

As all of the issues outlined under 1) to 4) above concern me very deeply, I would appreciate it if you could please consider them before you finalise the text of your draft letter (which we have arranged to discuss on Wednesday June 22nd).

In addition to the points set out above, there is one small observation I wish to mention to you as well - which is that the address Fair & Murtagh have shown for me in their letter to you of June 14th 2005 reads "Gortim, Co. Tipperary" (instead of ******, Co. Tyrone).

Best wishes,

Billy Finnerty.
